Before you’ve even left the hospital, the questions start.
“When will you start trying for another one?”
“Will you try for a girl/boy next?”
Then the advice begins.
“You should have kids close together so they can play and be best friends.”
“You can’t have just one child, they’ll be lonely/spoilt/bored.”
Then if you actually have more than one child, the unhelpful comments really set in (especially if you dared to have children close in age… as suggested).
“You’ve got your hands full!”
“Do you not own a TV?”
“I guess private school is out of the question now.”
